Inspired by Impagliazzo's 5 hypothetical worlds of cryptographic complexity theory [1], two famous American scientists, Scott Aaronson and Boaz Barak, described 5 AI worlds that help us have an independent and multi-dimensional view of the possibilities of AI in the future. Scott and Boaz named the 5 AI worlds: AI-Fizzle, Futurama, AI-Dystopia, Singularia and Paperclipalypse [2]. The authors outline the assumptions relatively clearly with their technical and social consequences for everyone to discuss without trying to assign probabilities to the situations.
