(Bqp.vn) - On December 22, Comrade Pham Minh Chinh, Politburo member, Prime Minister attended the inauguration ceremony of the project to rebuild the residential area of Lang Nu village (Phuc Khanh commune, Bao Yen district, Lao Cai province). At the same time, an online television bridge took place in Nam Tong village, Nam Luc commune and Kho Vang village, Coc Leu commune (Bac Ha district, Lao Cai province).

Attending the inauguration ceremony were General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense. Also attending were leaders of Central Committees, Ministries, and branches, leaders and delegates of functional agencies of Lao Cai province, Bao Yen district, Phuc Khanh commune and people of Lang Nu village.

Implementing the Prime Minister's direction on mobilizing resources, restoring infrastructure, supporting production, and stabilizing people's lives, Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee coordinated with Vietnam Television to organize the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of Lang Nu resettlement area. The Ministry of National Defense quickly deployed forces, directly assigning the task to Army Corps 12 (Ministry of National Defense) to carry out the reconstruction of Lang Nu village.
Immediately after receiving the task, Army Corps 12 established a Steering Committee and organized forces to go to the scene to coordinate with Lao Cai province and related agencies and units to conduct a field survey and develop a plan to rebuild the residential area of Lang Nu village. To date, the resettlement area has been completed with 40 newly built, spacious houses, 1 community center, 1 school including 2 primary classes and 2 kindergarten classes. Electricity, water and public lighting infrastructure were built synchronously, combined with planting trees to create a landscape for the residential area.

Returning to Lang Nu, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh was very moved when offering incense at the memorial stele for the victims and visiting the area displaying photos and artifacts of the flash flood that caused landslides in Lang Nu village. More than 3 months ago, this land was devastated by mud with broken trees, fallen rocks, and deeply buried houses; many Lang Nu residents had passed away forever.

When inspecting the landslide area, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested local Party committees, authorities, mass organizations, military and police forces to continue to focus on overcoming the consequences of natural disasters; Solving environmental sanitation work, preventing epidemics from occurring, ensuring traffic and educational facilities for students to go to school, and organizing livelihoods for people. Local authorities and specialized agencies will survey safe locations to restore Lang Nu village, and complete it by December 31 at the latest.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his emotion when attending the inauguration ceremony of the Lang Nu residential reconstruction project. Meeting with people whose relatives were victims, the Prime Minister shared his loss and encouraged them to feel secure in their new homes.
