(Bqp.vn) - On the afternoon of December 22, in Hanoi, the Steering Committee of the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 (referred to as the Exhibition) held a conference to summarize and commend the Exhibition. Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Minister of National Defense, Head of the Exhibition Steering Committee chaired the conference.

Attending the conference were Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Head of the Exhibition Organizing Committee; Senior Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Head of the Exhibition Organizing Committee; delegates from a number of functional agencies of the Ministry of National Defense.

Speaking at the conference, Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien praised and acknowledged the efforts of agencies and units as well as the coordination, cooperation, implementation of the tasks of advising, ensuring, serving, organizing, creating the success of the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024. Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien emphasized that with the attention, leadership, and close and drastic direction of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, the exhibition was a great success, achieving the set goals and requirements; the coordination and cooperation between agencies and units were carried out well, smoothly, and promptly handled arising situations. The fact that the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense successfully organized the exhibition for the second time has created attraction for defense manufacturers in the world as well as the region. In addition, the sideline activities of the exhibition are rich and diverse, introducing many cultural characteristics and beauty of the people and the Vietnam People's Army, contributing to affirming the prestige and position of the country and the Vietnam People's Army in the international arena.

According to the Organizing Committee, the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024, taking place from December 19 to 22 at Gia Lam Airport, Hanoi, was a great success, ensuring absolute security and safety in all aspects, attracting a large number of cadres, soldiers, people and international visitors to visit.

Accordingly, the exhibition area has a total area of over 100,000 m2, with 15,000 m2 of indoor display and more than 20,000 m2 of outdoor display. Participating in the exhibition are 242 defense industry enterprises, domestic and international related enterprises with more than 440 indoor and outdoor booths displaying a variety of defense industry products, such as: fighter aircraft, transport aircraft, helicopters, fixed-wing aircraft, unmanned aircraft, ships, artillery systems, radars, guns, ammunition, electronic warfare equipment, simulation, communications, optoelectronics, command and control systems, etc.; economic - defense products, technology, digital transformation results, safety, network security; national brand products, regional specialty products, traditional craft villages.

Along with that, the areas displaying achievements, cultural spaces, culinary spaces, VIP reception areas, Organizing Committee areas, seminars, meeting rooms and auxiliary areas are organized with quality, meeting the set goals and requirements.

The application of advanced technology for the first time in exhibition display has brought innovation in the form of introduction to the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024; thereby, attracting a large number of customers and people to visit and learn. As of 12:00 on December 22, the exhibition has welcomed more than 260,000 visits from the people and professional visitors.

Notably, within the framework of the exhibition, enterprises throughout the army have taken advantage of the opportunity to exchange and work with foreign companies and enterprises. The Organizing Committee has ensured 1,872 bilateral meetings and working sessions for military agencies, units and enterprises to listen to product introductions and discuss areas of interest. On that basis, a number of potential areas of cooperation have been discussed by the parties; Vietnam's defense industry has received many orders from foreign partners requesting to supply defense industry products, such as: infantry guns; submunitions, mortars, artillery shells; economic ships; propellants - explosives used in the defense and civilian sectors; other economic products... Many contracts have been signed with a total value of more than 286 million USD.

In addition to the main activities of the exhibition, the thematic seminar program took place over 04 days including 52 presentations on 02 main topics with 07 sessions...

Recognizing the contributions of organizations, businesses, sponsors and achievements in advising on the organization, participation and assurance, serving the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024, the Minister of National Defense decided to award Certificates of Merit to 120 groups and 213 individuals; The Chief of the General Staff awarded Certificates of Merit to 64 groups and 186 individuals; the Chief of the General Department of Politics awarded Certificates of Merit to 62 groups and 136 individuals.
