The Law on Management and Protection of National Defense Works and Military Zones has institutionalized the Party's policies and viewpoints on the task of protecting the Fatherland, military and national defense tasks stated in the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress; Resolution of the 8th Central Committee (11th and 13th tenures) on the Strategy for Protecting the Fatherland in the new situation; meeting practical requirements, overcoming limitations and inadequacies in the regulations on management and protection of national defense works and military zones of the 1994 Ordinance on Protection of National Defense Works and Military Zones; The provisions of the Law ensure conformity and consistency with the 2013 Constitution and relevant legal documents, creating an important and solid legal basis for performing the tasks of managing and protecting national defense works and military zones, maintaining the combat readiness of the national defense works and military zones system, ensuring the legitimate rights and interests of the State, organizations and individuals, while creating conditions for closely linking socio-economic development with strengthening national defense and security.

Along with that, strengthening measures to manage and protect national defense works and military zones; developing support policies and prioritizing investment programs for socio-economic development for localities, agencies, organizations, households and individuals in areas greatly affected by socio-economic development, and limiting foreign investment; policies for areas with restricted land use rights and other legitimate rights and interests due to the requirements of management, protection, and ensuring safety for defense works and military zones. Unified and synchronized with the relevant legal system, creating conditions for socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security.

Effective implementation of the Law on Management and Protection of Defense Works and Military Zones contributes to strengthening the defense potential, successfully performing the task of building and protecting the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the new situation./.
